broadband help needed

hey guys,

I have a 10 mb connection to broadband (NTL in the UK) through a cable modem, i have never had any problems with connection and i play games like world of warcraft and pes online. Recently my flatmate bought a computer so to share the internet connection i purchased a belkin wireless g router, he cant recieve the signal from his room so i purchased an ethernet cable and fed that to the router, which works and he gets a connection but now i cant play games online as whenever he is downloading stuff i get kicked off the game that am playing. a 10mb connection is more than enough for the 2 of us to share so i cant understand why it would be doing this? Is there some way i can limit the speed of his connection? I tried using the wireless router but that will only limit what time and day he can access the broadband there is no option to limit speed, so is there a program that i can use to do it? i havent set up any network options on my pc as i dont know how to do it and his connection feeds straight into the router not through my pc, any help you can give would be great.

Do you have any QoS (Quality of Service) settings in your router management?
On my Linksys WRT54G there are settings under the Application/Gaming page for adjusting priorities for applications and also the router port that the cable is hooked up to. Might want to check that out. Don't know if your belkin has that capability.
