Broadband Internet Stops

I have Comcast Broadband internet. If the computer is on, after about 2 hours the internet stops working. I have to reboot the computer and the internet works again. Then after about 2 hours it just stops. Can someone help?

if you're using winXP, the next time this happens, right click on my network places and locate your connection icon. Right click on it and choose "repair" from the options.. see if you can get back on the net.

 

Some system specs would help.

When the internet stops working, can you ping websites?

As in:

Start, Run, cmd (press enter)

ping www.comcast.com

If you run Win98/ME and when your connection stops then try doing the following

Right click on "my computer" > go to the "device manager" tab > look down and look for "network adapters" > double click on network adapters > find your adapter listed > press REFRESH on your adapter.
