Broken Disks And Mac-formatted Disks On Win11/64 Pc W/ Usb Floppy Drive?

Hi! A couple months ago, I received some Mac-formatted floppies from eBay. I knew they wouldn't work but thought I could reformat them and get them to work. It did on a Mac-formatted Zip100 disk. It didn't. Also, recently, at my mother's house, I tried to format a few floppies on a Win98 computer using FDFormat, and the computer said it couldn't format the floppies. Reformatting them properly didn't work; IIRC, Windows couldn't regognize the disk. Also, a flash drive broke recently during reformatting: it was formatting properly, but then, I got some window flashing, and the formatting was canceled. Then Windows didn't register the drive at all. Is there any hope for these disks and drive? Can I make them usable again?

 

do you know anyone at all, that has an apple computer? if so, macOS will see the usb floppy drive and your mac floppy disks, then using apple's disk utility, you can format the floppies as FAT on the mac. well, the choices are either MS-DOS (FAT) or ExFAT. windows will be fine then, with those floppies. you could try the same thing with the flash drive. i find that apple's disk utility is far easier and more versatile to use for formatting drives than anything windows has. [well, in my mind anyway] otherwise, no brilliant ideas. good luck with it.

 

I thank you. My Provider has a Mac, but, after I posted here, I found that I don't have the floppies anymore. I was able to find five other floppies I can recycle, though.
