    Windows XP
    eMachines T6528
    System Restore fails
Manufacturer claims reboot disk is unavailable (wtf?!)

I messed up my registry and get constant "rundll32 not found" and "choose the program to open this with.." prompts, rendering the control panel and just about every executable file UNUSABLE.

    Dire assistance needed!!!!

    Thanks in advance

You could try this: exefix from Kelly's Korner a very reputable site.

Right click and select save link as option. Put it on the desktop and make sure it ends in .reg not .txt (FF is adding a .txt ending to my test download). Then right click and select merge. It should restore Exe functionality.
