Currently using HP notebook 15-n048ca Win10 home. First issue was malware. I ran the readme scans and for a few weeks the machine ran fine, thank you! Now the malware is back (js coinminer) but I now have have a broken screen so I started using external monitor to work on the malware removal again, however, needing to run pc in safe mode (through msconfig) has rendered the external screen useless.
I would like to boot back to normal mode so I can fix the malware issue before transferring my data to a new machine...
Do I need to buy a new laptop screen or is there another way?
    Thank you in advance.

Hmmm, I am not understanding why you cannot see the display in Safe Mode. That is a basic hardware function that is typically supported before the hard drive (and thus graphics drivers) are loaded.

See if any of the suggested options here help.

I powered down as suggested, removed the battery and reinserted after 30 min. I was all set to perform the "blind reboot" but to my surprise the laptop fired up as per norm. At this point should I run another readme scan and upload logs to the Malware division? In the mean time I will run the Norton full sys scan and see what pops up.
    Thanks again.

You also need to determine why you got infected in the first place.

    Is Windows fully updated?

If Norton is your primary scanner, then sure, make sure it is updated and scan again. Regardless the primary scanner used, I always recommend using a secondary scanner to make sure you (the user and always weakest link in security) or your primary didn't let something slip by. I generally recommend Malwarebytes for that.

And then it is critical to avoid being what I call "click-happy" on unsolicited downloads, links, popups and attachments. Lastly, avoid risky behavior.

If you keep getting infected and have taken the steps above to avoid infections, then sure, follow the instructions here to get an expert's help.
