My Brother DCP-145C has a blockage in Yellow ink.

I have tried the 'Cleaning' cycle more than a dozen times - with no effect.

(I have been using compatible inks)

    Any tips or ideas, please?

(Seems the regular automatic cleaning cycle isn't enough to keep the heads clear - I assume the ink has dried out)

I don't have a Brother printer, so I am not aware of all the quirks this brand may have.

That said, I'll tell you what I have had some success with on Epson and HP printers. Original blue Windex with ammonia-D!

For the Epson, I just injected several mls of Windex into the ink tanks and used it to clean the printheads. I intended to put new ink tanks in place, but I found the Windex reconstituted the ink, so I continued to print my everyday copies just using the Windex cartridges.

For the HP. printheads are attached to the cartridges. I had several that I had either refilled myself or had refilled in a store and, because they had not been used for several months, would not print. I got a shallow plastic lid, put a coffee filter on it, sprayed Windex directly on the the area of the cartridge where the ink should emerge and sat the cartridges on the coffee filter. I went back periodically over a couple hours and sprayed a bit more Windex and added a few drops of water in the middle of the coffee filter. A few of the cartridges seemed "light" so I got out a postal scale and weighed them--figured the ink had evaporated some. I injected some Windex into them with a syringe meant for refills.I waited until ink flowed from the bottom of each cartridge. Of the seven cartridges, I got ink to flow again from all seven! I don't know if all of them will work again, but the one black one I put in my HP printer is printing just fine now.

So, if no one else has suggestions for you and you are going to discard cartridge or printer or both, give the Windex a try.
