Brother HL2170W, Windows 7 64 Bit, Not able to print.

Hi Everyone,
I am writing here for one of my friends. He bought a Brother HL2170W Printer few months ago, which use to work fine with other XP computer. But now He is using an Asus computer running on Windows 7 64 bit and is not able to print through it.

When he connects the printer, it gets installed and shows a green check on the Printers and Devices denoting that its working fine. In the device manager as well it shows that its installed successfully. But when he tries to print a test page, it shows its gonna print but when we check the printer status, it shows error printing and does nothing. there is no error code or anything.

I have tried uninstalling the printer software and drivers both, and then renamed the printer and x64 folders in the spool folder and tried installing it again. But the same thing. Also uninstalled the anti virus software and disabled the firewall as well. Tried changing the physical USB port and virtual port as well, but same result.

Any kind of help will be highly appreciated. If you need any other info, then please do let me know.

 

Have you installed the Windows 7 x64 driver for the printer from here?

Oh Yes! I was extra careful on that and downloaded it myself and tried installing it, but same result.
