Brother Snake...

    Caliban I don't need no steenkin' title!

    Had to kill Brother Snake today - hated to, but he kept coming towards the house - was a mean little joker, probably a young timber rattler: he was hitting the shovel pretty hard...

    Dang. I hate every iota of a snake! :-D Got 'Jesus' around for attacking serpents. Little 00 buckshot applied, and no more snake problem. Glad he bit the shovel, not you!

    Yeah, I got 'Critter Control' (Mossberg 500A, cut down to about 16"), but this was just a little feller...

    Not fond of snakes myself. The Indiana DNR has reintroduced some species into Hoosier forest, I heard . . . dunno why. I guess an effort to balance the rodent population or something.

    If they stay in the forest, fine - they can munch rodents to their snakey hearts content! But show up in my yard and I have a critter-control device also - Remington 870 Wingmaster 16 guage. It loves squirrels and pheasant; I'm sure it would like snakes :-D

    Looks like a copperhead to me. We have mostly black racers, king snakes and a few other non-poisonous snakes where we are. We like to see those around as they are prone to eat baby copperheads and other poisonous snakes. As a child in camp, we had at least 4 pet snakes in the cabin. It was quite a fright to wake up and have one dangling from a rafter right in front of your nose!! :-D:-D
