I was wondering if Browser Hijack Retaliator would conflict with any of the following:

    Spybot S&D
    Ad-Aware 2007
    SpywareBlaster
    Comodo Firewall
    Comodo BOClean
    Avast

Also, if Browser Hijack Retaliator would actually add another layer of protection, cause me problems, or is entirely unnecessary?

As I've looked around the reviews I can't seem to find anything bad about the program, but just wondering if it would be beneficial or not.

Luckily I have all of the above installed and running, and I haven't had any problems YET!!

I would appreciate an opinion from the EXPERTS!!

    Thanks, in advance.

You could add SpywareGuard from the SpywareBlaster site. Updates stopped a while ago on that but given that it is heuristic in nature (from my understanding) that should not matter.

I run BHR with Avira's AntiVir and Comodo's BOClean and have had no problems with it. It may be redundant, but I like how it sits in the system tray quietly doing its thing until it needs to spring into action. I give it a solid thumbs up. Do you need it? That's your call to make.... it does prevent things from getting added silently to your IE favorites, and it also prevents unauthorized home page changes in IE, and it does alot more than that. If you run a different browser most of the time, then BHR is probably not needed.

I agree, SpywareGuard would be pointless if other programs listed were installed, if for no other reason than it hasn't been supported or updated for over 3 years. I'm not a user of Spybot, but I have heard that the Tea Timer can slow down a PC. This may or may not be true, and I know that SpyBot is a great tool. I recommend BHR to users of IE because it runs at zero usage and you usually don't even know it's there unless it warns you of some possibly nefarious activity, or if you open it to use one of the tools it has like the startup manager, host file manager, cookie manager, BHO manager, Favorites manager, etc.... Yes, there are many other tools that do these things, but BHR is easy to use and understand (esp. for novices), and it has many useful features for both the novice and more advanced users, and it's free, and it doesn't rely on updates or definitions for the protection it provides.

Thanks to all who responded. I think I'll give it a try and see how it goes, unless anyone sees any conflicts.

I know I can always depend on multi-view responses from everyone. That's why I love MG.
