My browser has been hijacked again! This happened to me before, and you guys helped me out, but I don't remember what to do  ! I ran HijackThis, and this is the log that it gave me:

Tried to use the tutorial, but I am inept when it comes to computers, and I don't want to mess anything up more than it is! Thanks for any help....it is REALLY APPRECIATED!

Please follow the rules. If you read the tutorial, it told you several items that you did not listen to:

Update! Due to Hijack This logs destroying search engine and website searches, we now ask you do not post your Hijack This log file unless requested by us. It is for advanced users, so if you do not understand how to use it, you do not need it....yet. Instead, please tell us in your post what symptoms you are experiencing so we can try and resolve it that way. When, and if, we ask you to post your logfile, please attach it as a file. To do this save the log file and select manage attachments in a new thread to upload it. All running programs should be closed, including your web browser, email, items in the tray, anything you can close... Close before running Hijack This!

You should also work your way thru this too: http://forums.majorgeeks.com/showthread.php?t=35407

After all that, let us know where you stand. You appear to have the one of the forms of the about:blank hijack. about:Buster and HSremove may help (they are listed in the link I gave you). If you are still having an issue we may request for a current HijackThis log as an attachment.

Also two more things you must do before coming back for more help:
    1) get the proper version of HijackThis: http://www.majorgeeks.com/download3155.html
    2) get your Windows Critical Updates installed. Even your Internet Explorer is out of date.
    Go here: http://v4.windowsupdate.microsoft.com/en/default.asp
and click Scan for Updates and install at a minimum the Critical Updates.

Great! I happy those items helped. Keep those tools on your PC and keep them updated just in case you run into anymore problems. It's a good idea to scan for ad-ware periodically. If you surf alot, do it weekly. If you only surf a small amount, do it monthly.

You should consider putting a program like SpywareBlaster on your PC to block some of this stuff from ever getting in to begin with.

I currently have SpyBot, Ad-aware, HijackThis, cwshredder, aboutbuster, along with ZoneAlarm and Norton Internet Security, although the latter hasn't been working correctly since I upgraded to XP Pro. I'll have to re-install it and see if it works then. I thought that NIS and ZoneAlarm took care of all that stuff, but perhaps you're never completely covered! Thanks again for the help!

They do help but as you said nothings is perfect. Even having a variety of different protection methods installed does not guarantee you will not have problems. It also up to the end user to watch where they go and be careful what they click ok on. Not reading an EULA popup and just clicking ok can wind up installing bad stuff on their PCs that they basically have now agreed to. Some malware sneeks in just because you go to a particular website.
