Browser issues

Guys,

I have started seeing problems on a PC inall browsers. (IE7, FFox, Chrome). Its my parents PC, I dont know what they touched. 2 other laptops connected to the same wireless network are working fine.

The browsers seem to be restricting access to some sites, I think mostly https. For example, I can get to google and results pages, but I cant get to sign into email, or online banking. It says connecting fora longtime, then times out.

Also, something else that I noticed in IE is in the address bar, the addresses are displayed in this format, only whenyou hover over with the mouse...

Is there any global setting that could affect all 3 browsers in this way? Or is it connectivity related? I've tried ipconfig/DNSFlush.

Just to say, Skype, MSN etc work fine.

Get cCleaner from here;

And run the cleaner and registry cleaners.

Does it do this in safe mode with networking? All three browsers the same results? :wave:wave

I've ran CCleaner, no difference. It still happens in all 3 browsers and yes, its the same in safe mode.

Its VERY strange. Like I say, I can get to all the sites on my laptop connected to the same router, so its not like there is anything wrong there. On the PC, its possisble to get to this site and follow the link to the CCleaner, but when I click anything else to follow links to download etc, it times out. bt.yahoo.com times out yet I can ping it and get to it fine from my laptop.

Any other suggestions?

Last time I saw symptoms like that it was from an infection. Try the scans from;
