Browser refresh not working....

Odd problem and I am not sure where this fits in.
I run Windows XP Home, SP2. Browser is latest version of Firefox but also this happens in IE & Netsape but not on my other computer. I have run the latest version of ccleaner, cleaned cache, rebooted etc.

I cannot seem to refresh pages - it's like my browser gets stuck on an old page (hence me thinking it was a cache problem). This effects my website, for example. Today, I uploaded a new page along with edits to an old page. The new page I can see fine. I cannot see the edits on the old page unless I view it directly from cpanel. This does not happen on the other computer though.

When I sign into forums, I have to sign in 3 or 4 times and every time I go to a new page. If I refresh, nothing happens but if I close the browser and re-open, I see new posts. If I refresh again, I get an old page.

I just cannot fathom what is happening, and oddly, it doesn't happen every time - it's just in spurts. Fine for an hour, then bad again.

Any clues? TIA!

Have you tried hitting the F5 key? That has always worked better for me than the 'Refresh' button.

 

or CTRL + F5, which is a total refresh (if memory serves me correctly)....

 

Hi, I didn't have the problem all weekend so couldn't test the F5 or CTRL F5.
Today, it's happening again & neither work.

I'm not sure if I can put website links here to demonstrate what I mean but again I am having the http: versus http:www problem. Updates show on http but not www, on any browser that I try, but my other computer is fine.

Same with forums - a refresh won't show my updates to a thread but I can see them if someone posts after me and then do a refresh. Very weird.
