Browser spinning its wheels until System Restore

After windows updates, I can connect to the Internet but cannot browse consistently. It just spins it wheels. Example: Often, when I respond to a forum message, the browser icon keeps spinning and the new page does not load; when I reload the messages, my response is there.
I run System Restore and things work smoothly until Windows Updates. I have issues with wired and wireless connection.

 

This can be caused by several possible issues:

* The host server. Although Major Geeks and most other large forum sites usually respond quickly, there are still a few that use antiquated software and hardware that takes forever to acknowledge a post and reload the page (example: Consumerist.org).

* Network traffic. If the problem is intermittent or only occurs at certain times (example: early evening when half the world is streaming from Netflix), it could be a bandwidth issue.

The easiest test would be to try a different browser. If using IE, be sure you've updated to v.9 (Vista/Win 7) or v.8 (XP). You could also try downloading and running either Mozilla Firefox or Chrome to see if they run faster.

* Happens to me in MG forum, also, as I even got stuck while previewing my response just now. Sometimes it helps to delete browsing history and then reclick on the link.

* Happens any time of day.

* Happens with IE 9 and Firefox 8.
