Browser Wont open

HI all,
I'm having problems with my internet browsers on my moms computer. I recently went through a lengthy process of removing malware in the spyware forum. Since doing this I cannot get any browsers to open pages.
I can connect to the internet(56k dialup) but browsers wont work.
I uninstalled Netscape from her machine because I wanted her to use Firefox. Don't know if this had anything to do with it. Netscape is what came with the ISP.
Strange thing is her IP address is showing as 0.0.0.0?????? I'm trying to get tech support from her ISP but not doing very well. She had a cd when she first starting using them but sha cant find it.

Try opening a cmd prompt, and use the following;
ipconfig /release
ipconfig /renew

then do ipconfig /all and see if she has an IP.

Also, if NO browsers work and the above isn't working either, you may want to redo IP. Try downloading/running winsockfix.

 

Tried the command prompt suggestions. Still came up 0.0.0.0. Had already run Winsock fix???
ISP are trying to get me to bring the computer to them so they can look at it...NOT.
I guess I might have to reformat
Don't know what else to do or if that will solve the problem
