If avoiding deep entrenchment in the registry is a concern, is Opera or Firefox the better browser to use.
I am not a tech; I just want a light browser as I have heard that FF,Gecko etc are hard to fully remove from the registry.
How they function is another day, ok?

Saying that one browser is "better" than another is really a matter of preference. I like Opera because of its speed, but I don't like its functionality/GUI and esp the way it handles imported bookmarks. I use PaleMoon most of the time at home and at work, but occasionally use Comodo Dragon due to its speed (IMO faster than Opera) and I like the GUI better than Opera and Chrome.... Chrome is considered one of the more secure browsers out there, so saying one is "better" really depends on what you look for in a browser....

Since I don't install/uninstall/re-install browsers on any type of regular basis (I install one and use it, period), I don't worry about the leftover registry entries. The reg entries are a non-issue because even if FF leaves stuff in the reg after uninstalling, it won't have any effects on anything.

    Hello
I had not thought my original question through.
Most of us non techs get a bit funny about "junk' in the registry but as this thread pointed out the amount left behind, if the program was removed is nothing to worry about. i was erroneously thinking of conflicts etc.
That is why so many novices are tempted into using registry cleaners.
    Thank you all.
I use MSIE 9 usually but some sites won't accept it like one of my banks so I need firefox too.
