Browsers Crashing

Thanks for looking. I'm using a Dell 13 7000 series laptop with windows 10. When I visit one forum site no matter what browser I use, it crashes. I'm able to visit the site, sign in, and browse the site, but if I click on a post in the forum, it takes forever to load, sometimes it does load and sometimes not, but even if it does, it immediately crashes, and I get a message that the connection reset. When I try to use the browser or any other browser after that, I get a message that the proxy server is refusing connection. I must then restart my computer to be able to reconnect.
I have tried everything including changing proxy settings and even no proxy, but it still crashes. I guess I could just give up on this site, it's not that important, but I don't like knowing that something isn't right with my laptop. I tried another, older dell d630, also using windows 10, from the same internet connection, and it works fine, so it's got to be something set wrong or corrupted in this laptop, I just can't seem to track it down.
Thanks again for looking and for help you can give.

So long as the forum you mentioned doesn't deal with any dubious stuff, please post a link so that users here can test it.

If I had your problem I would suggest opening CMD with Admin rites and typing sfc /sannow

This will check and fix your system files but does take some time.
    Good luck,
    s.

sfc /scannow - make sure spelling is correct and do it from an ADMINISTRATOR command prompt (right click windows shell start and choose 'command prompt (admin))
See this section in order to produce a small and easy to read TEXT document of the results:

I ran sfc/scannow and it finished with this- "Windows resource protection did not find any integrity violations."

OK well if the same problem still exists on that specific site, even using different web browsers (if you have Chrome and Firefox I would try them as well as Internet Explorer and Microsoft EDGE which are both included in Windows 10)then you could create a system restore point, and then use
    Tweaking.com - Windows Repair 3.9.2
There is a tutorial to using it on that download page.

Ha ha, well, ran into a problem right from the start using Windows Repair. First step is to do a power reset, but my laptop is a Dell 2 in 1 13 7000 series, and doesn't have a (easily) removable battery. Is there a way to still do a power reset?
Oh, and my laptop is getting worse, it's very slow to start, the browsers all start very slow as well, and it just froze for a few seconds right here, but recovered. I have an Intel 15-5200U cpu and 8gb of ram and this thing used to be very fast.
I've run numerous malware scans including Trend micro, bit defender, Malware Bytes, and McAfee, and they've all come up clean.

You could try doing a system reset. Go to search the web and Windows and type in Reset. Your choice will be Reset this PC. It will save your documents but reset to factory settings. It will supply a list of all programs that you use to have and will restore all programs from factory.

I tried tweaking.com windows repair and no problems were found. Before I do a system reset, one question. When I bought this laptop it was running windows 8. I updated it to win 10 over a year ago. If I do a reset, will it reset to win 10 or 8?

Thank you all for your help. I think I was wrong about Tweaking.com. I ran the windows repair and at first it didn't seem to work, in fact it almost seemed worse, browser was crashing constantly or wouldn't connect at all, but after a couple restarts it got better. My laptop seems to be running great now. I have logged onto the problem site with no problem and all the web sites I've visited are loading a lot faster. Thanks again to all of you for your help, especially you Max Turner for suggesting Tweaking.com - Windows Repair 3.9.2
