Browsers: I need to vent

ok why do i need FOUR browsers- cant one do everything?

dont like IE (ei ei o)
need safari for itunes/iphone
prefer opera but cant open pdf's
and used to use mozilla

Used to use opera, Tried Google Chrome, Never Looked Back. Used it about a month. Much faster.

 

Let me add to that, I have not had ANY problems with IE8, I've put it on over 20 machines, all types and OS's. But, I have SEEN numerous problems.

The reason, I believe is that IE8 comes standard with all sorts of options.

So when you first install it, and upon starting it, you will get the setup menu, thumbnail of same attached.

When you click next, you will be given an option of normal or custom installation. Choose custom.

Then you be led through a series of choices regarding updates, add ons, accelerators, search engines, filters, and maybe more. I just say no or decline ALL offers and enhancements and EVERYTHING!

In installing this way, I personally have had zero problems, and I use facebook and secured banking/trading sites. No freezes, no slow downs, absolutely no problems when installed in this manner.

I use Firefox and SRWare Iron.....my sister likes Opera and my niece likes Maxthon. Personally I haven't used IE in years.
