Ok, so, at some point in the past the default action for folders got changed to "Open Command line prompt here" (maybe windows was trying to tell me somthing :p ).

So, after getting totally getting fed up with right click then open on every single damned folder, I made a NEW action for folders (explorer.exe), and made that default.

Although this solves my problem, it has the side effect of starting a new process for every folder that I open. Is there any way to restore the default action for clicking on folders?

    OS:
    XP Pro SP2
    400W PSU from Antec :p

    Hey Goldy,

    Try start > run > and type in: regsvr32 /i shell32

If that doesn't work, locate HKEY_CLASSES_ROOT\Directory\shell in the registry and change the default value to the word none.
