Hello, I have recently been experiencing BSODs during defragmenting or backing up my computer. The BSOD is a 0x24 and basicly says the error is with the ntfs file system. I have done a DSKCHK /f, /r and have used a hard drive recovery tool called spinrite (google it). There is no noise or any other symptom to indicate hard drive failure. As far as hardware goes I think everything fuctions perfictly. My memory passes memtest 86+ and the microsoft memory test utitlity run off of the vista 32 install dvd. I am able to Run Prime 95 for as long as i will without any warnings or crashes, My system passes SiSandra lite's burn in test. Hardware-wise my comp is 100% stable, exept that it crashes when trying to defrag or someother HD stressful thing. The temps of everything is fine and I do not have it OCed. I reset the CMOS, did a system restore, tried updateing/rollbacking drivers, (Still not sure if a driver is causing it or if so which one) tried to defragment in safe mode... all to no avail. The ONLY time it crashes is during defragmentation, Backup, and sometimes it even crashes during a run of my antivirus (Norton... :( yes i know Norton sucks..) This Comp is Brand new, 2months old so I really wouldnt think it would be hardware failure. I will attach a copy of the Dump file so you can look at it.. all i can deduce from it is that it says Ntfs and (poopie..jk) many times. If it makes any difference I am Running RAID 0. on
    System spec.
    E8500, P5q Deluxe MB, 2x250gig seagate HD RAID0, 2gig PC9600 DDR2 1200mhz, Hd4850. Vista 32.
On a side note and probably differently problem task manager only sees 2046mbs instead of 2048. Even when i swap out mem moduals or reseat them or put in 4gigs it remains 2046...I knew the memory hole limitation due to a 32bit operating system were big but i mean come on!!
Any help would be much appreciated as I have done everything I can think to do......
I got an upload error when trying to upload the dmp file (invalid type). so someone help me try to upload that first..
Pre-emtive Thanks. and sorry for my horrible spelling
