BSOD and other issues

I have about 6 Dell computers (different models) all running XP, that are all starting to have the same issues. It noramlly happens after a Windows update and/or reboot. I get the BSOD and I have to reboot to "Last working config". That works for a few days, then the user will have issues with loggin in. Sometimes a reboot will get them back and running, or me logging in as Admin. Other times, their profiles are so corrupt that I have to create a new one and move all of their files.

We are running Symantec on each computer and I have run CCleaner and Malwares (at times) to see if they were infected. So far, most have been clean, although I did find a Tojan (RTHDBPL) on one system. That computer wasn't having these issues, but had a problem running IE 8.

On a few systems, Symantec's Auto-Protect gets disabled.

On a system yesterday, first the user couldn't log in, then I couldn't log in (as Admin). I did a couple reboots and got in as Admin. Then I got the user logged in, but soon after, his Outlook started acting up and finally crashed and wouldn't load. I logged back in as Admin and tried to run the Office repair feature and the system wouldn't run the Setup.exe file. After a few more reboots, I got that to take.

Just wondering if anyone can point me in the right direction(s)???

Anyone else having these issues?

Our anti-virus programs are 'dis-abled' on 3 machines now. Still no signs of virus....

If you suspect malware could be a culprit (which is a possibility considering MBAM has already found a trojan) I would suggest going through the Read & Run Me thoroughly and then post the results of the scan in a new post in the malware removal forum.
