BSOD (bad pool headers/afd.sys errors) help.

Hey guys,

really new here not even sure i posted this in the right thread so i i have posted incorrectly i apologize and would appreciate an admin/moderator moving the post.

Anyway quick run down.

Been recently getting BSOD errors whilst downloading files (browsing is fine) mostly just downloading.

First i thought malware/spyware so ran through the other link on here about removing it all. Found nothing what so ever.

I'll cut to the chase, after seeing bad pool headers i updated all my drivers (running vista 64 bit). Errors still occurred. Lastly have been talking with a few people about my antivirus and firewall. They have hinted that it could be my firewall from AVIRA causing the crashes as in the drivers are out of date or causing some sort of conflict. Problem is all drivers and updates are well, up to date.

Has anyone else had this problem or can suggest something?

Forgive my ignorance, are you referring to your post on mini dumps and analysis?

I followed that only problem is i had and have had trouble locating my mini dumps. It is strange too, because when i located them or what i thought was them i only found one, and i have been getting the errors constantly.

So i may be doing something wrong also when i debugd the mini dump i could find it didn't have a whole deal of information just said that there was a error/problem in the afd.sys part.

I will try to sort the process out again and get back to you.

*quick note: i got a different error this morning after disabling my firewall; Drive IRQL not less ... ... *
