Im interning at this place and we just received 3 separate shipments from Dell for the E4200 Lattitude. Several of the users have been complaining that they are getting a BSOD w/Bad Pool Caller.

Now I did search on here. Found some things and also I tried switching the monitors(they ordered widescreen monitors- 2 different models- both have gone BSOD), updating the drivers.

The laptops have XP sp3 and we have loaded Groupwise, Symantec, Office and iMis. (some of the search results have said it can be software issues). But all the software works OK on the Desktops we ordered and it only BS whens its on the dock hooked to the monitor. Several users take them home and have only had issues here.

I wanna nip this in the bud cause 1-we have more on the way and angry users makes life miserable AND more importantly 2- hopefully if I can figure this out, it will land me a fulltime gig here.

    Any help would be appreciated......

I dont recall the actual screen- I did look at the codes of a few and they all had the x0c2 which is bad pool caller- followed by 4 sets of other numbers but they were different on at least 2 of those screens. These were just the ones that I encountered while testing. I dont know what happened with the other others because it would happen and they would just "one finger wizard" and restart.

We thought it was one set of monitors because it was only happening on one model then we thought it was the last 2 shipments but then we found out it was the first one too.

I just got in work and no longer have the laptop I was testing with. I did write down one of the codes.

    ***STOP: 0X000000C2 (0X00000040, 0X63050000, 0X80000000, 0X00000000)

    OK another quick update
Sorry for some reason I cant edit my original post-

anyway- Of our 3 shipments, the first one has been fine. The fulltime guy here realized one of the bad the one he thought was from the first group was actually from the second. The difference (and Im not sure it actually matters- but Im just trying to separate good/bad) is the second/third shipments came with the Windows Live preinstalled. Not sure if that makes any difference or not.

This code generally is not enough, we need the full screen to go on please. Perhaps a photograph of it with a digital camera?

    Will try-
The users have all been told to let us know if this happens again. Problem is they are the types that will in turn, restart then complain later. We are expecting ANOTHER shipment within the next day or 2 so I may just get another test OR just quietly switch one of the bad ones out.
