    Hello all:

Here's the scoop - last month right after I reformatted my HDD and reinstalled everything during a holiday break, I got bugged again. I am fairly certain it was some form of Vundo -- narrowed it down to a vtstt.dll file that a newer version of vundofix repaired/removed.

During this time of having that vtstt.dll file on my system, I started getting the BSOD: Bad_Pool_Caller event and I could not figure out why. Now, a couple of weeks of everything running fine and smooth, I am once again being visited by the BSOD: B_P_C.

I have been trying to recall what particular program or file I was using during the last time and I cannot recall. Today, it is a certain file while using Adobe Illustrator CS3. What I am not certain of is this related to memory or HDD issues.

I downloaded and ran a memory program (memtest-86 v3.4) and it reported no errors. I also googled this Bad_Pool_Caller event and got several hits mostly from 2004-2005 -- all with no real good solution to fixing the problem. Many of the posters noted that even when reformatting, the same event reoccurred.

I was hoping that someone on here might have some better info of this event before I try and reformatting to see if it might just help in my case.

    Thanks... bg
