BSOD error - BIOS not fully ACPI compliant

I have a Compaq Presario CQ60-421NR that needs to be restored from the System Recovery DVDs. After the initial restore process, when Windows Vista tries to start up, the system blue-screens with:

The BIOS in this system is not fully ACPI compliant. Please contact your system vendor for an updated BIOS.

Go to Compaq.com's support/download section and type in your model number. See if there is an updated BIOS version available for your PC (or, if in doubt, download the latest version).

If a BIOS update is available, Compaq's website should show options on how to "flash" (update) the BIOS. One option usually is creating a bootable CD.

Warnings:

* If power is lost (or flickers) during the BIOS update it may damage the motherboard beyond repair. To prevent this, it's best to have the PC connected to an AC battery backup (UPS) during the process.

* BIOS updating can be tricky on some PCs. If you are not totally sure of and comfortable with the process, ask a friend with more experience to help you.

If this error is the first of it's type you have seen, try the repair process again. If it is not the first time you have seen the error, but if you have used the computer before and the error has not appeared in the past, then you may have a hardware fault with your motherboard. Try the BIOS fixed as suggested by gman863 and if the problem persists then post back and we can suggest some other things.
