There are already a ton of threads about this all over the internet, but nothing that I have found that has helped me much.

Problem: Windows XP install CD blue-screens right before it enters the setup (or looks for hdd's).

Here is a taste of the BSOD:
A problem has been detected and windows has been shut down to prevent damage to your computer.
    ...
    ...
    Technical Information:
    STOP: 0x0000007E
    pci.sys
(if any more info is needed... let me know.)

    Solutions I have tried:

Put SATA/etc. drivers on Floppy. F6 during setup. Select drivers. It doesn't BSOD, but it doesn't find the HDD either.

Compatibility (IDE) Mode in BIOS. BSOD during setup with or without loading SATA drivers.

    Updated the BIOS. No improvement.

Slipstreamed drivers into XP CD using NLite. BSOD during setup.

So, as you can see, the furthest I get, no matter what I do, is being able to see that the installation CD doesn't see my HDD.

Any other suggestions are welcome. I have been working on this for a good couple of days and am just sick of it.

    Hi

Try resetting your BIOS, pop out the battery for around 10mins.

Does your motherboard have an onboard graphics card or is it just a PCI-E one? if it comes with an onboard one, remove the PCI-E card and then install XP, and once installed and updated to at least SP2, popin the PCI-E card, enter bios and make sure the onboard is disabled then save and exit bios then install graphics drivers.

When you slipstreamed the drivers with nLite, what version XP you using, if XP RTM or SP1 if so then slipstream SP2 or SP3 into the original XP (with drivers), network install packs for SP2 and SP3 only need one of them as SP3 is rollup package of all of them. (reason for SP2 needed is IIRC PCI-E gfx cards only recognised with this version)

Unplug all non-critical peripherals when installing XP.

I should have mentioned this earlier. This is a tablet computer. The only peripheral that is attached is a floppy drive (used for the RAID/SATA drivers). I am using Windows XP Pro SP2 (but have a key for Tablet Edition). I suppose I could try unhooking the BIOS battery, but I have tried this on several machines as I work in a building with 110 of these machines alone.

Just a little more about my system:
    Toshiba M700-S7004V
It uses Mobile Intel 965 Chipset (discovered by using CPU-Z)
Have tried completely formatting the drive to all 0's.
Updated BIOS to 1.6 (The latest on Toshiba's support site)

    Hope any of this helps.
