BSOD - one last shot before reinstall windows

Long story short - had a malware infection, tried to fix it with the help of a moderator, ran Combofix as instructed, restarted and got a BSOD, restarted normally & in safe mode & in last known good config.... to no avail. The stop error is 0x0000007E (0xC0000005, 0x86F3C562, 0xF78E27EC, 0xF78E24E8). When the computer is loading, I get the windows xp logo and almost to the point where the logon screen appears I get the BSOD.

I already copied the winlogon.exe & explorer.exe files in the recovery console, so I know that is not it. Tried repairing the registry per the instruction on the first post, didnt help any either.

Any help is always appreciated, I ordered a hard drive enclosure which is coming tomorrow to copy the files I need before the reinstall if it comes to that.

I figured out the keyboard issue and ran Kaspersky yesterday. It found one infection and cleaned it. I tried restarting normally & safe mode and get the same blue screen after the windows logo appears during boot and before the windows logon screen. Same stop error as before.
