    Hi there,

I posted originally in the Malware forum as I thought it was a Malware issue but it turns out I'm wrong. I followed advice from there but have continued to get the blue screen error. There's background info on this in the thread http://forums.majorgeeks.com/showthread.php?t=287570

I also used Belarc as advised to give system info if you need it:

Windows 7 Home Premium (x64) Service Pack 1 (build 7601)
    Install Language: English (United States)
    System Locale: English (United Kingdom)
    Installed: 22/01/2012 13:57:25
Boot Mode: BIOS (Secure Boot not supported)

    3.30 gigahertz Intel Core i5-2500K
    256 kilobyte primary memory cache
    1024 kilobyte secondary memory cache
    6144 kilobyte tertiary memory cache
    64-bit ready
    Multi-core (4 total)
    Not hyper-threaded

Board: ASUSTeK Computer INC. P8P67 PRO REV 3.1 Rev 1.xx

I've attached the .dmp file in a zip. Is there anything else you might need?

Thank you in advance for your help

This type of BSOD is almost always caused by security software interference within the networking subsystem, usually by a firewall component.

Uninstall the Agnitum Client Security Service fully, enable the built-in Windows firewall and download and install Microsoft Security Essentials during testing.

    ...during testing of? What?

So basically are you saying to completely remove outpost and just use windows security to see if that stops the blue screens?

I've been using outpost for over a year. How can it suddenly cause this issue?

    During stability testing.

MSE and the Windows firewall will give a decent level of protection, provided Windows and your commonly used software/plugins have been kept updated.

A lot of things get changed within Windows during the course of a year, much of your other software will also have gone through changes as well.

If your PC is stable for 7-10 days without Outpost, you can then try a fresh install of it, it's up to you.

Not to differ with Satrow who is so good with blue screens and dump analysis, but I did read on the MS board that it is recommended that attempting to update the network driver and or wifi driver is the first recommended advice for this issue.

Sure, updating the network driver might help, see answer #2 there for the most likely trigger - a 3rd party security driver.

More results, including at least one with Agnitum involvement, can be found by using the specific error string, X64_0xD1_NETIO!NetioAllocateAndReferenceCloneNetBufferList, as part of the search.

Thanks for that information Satrow. You really get down to the bottom of blue screens.

I was just pecking around to see if I could learn anything, so I guess I accomplished something by posting...

Thanks for all you're help guys.

So... should I update my driver as well? I did consider this and try to find the correct drivers but I think my particular adapter is discontinued so finding drivers for it has proven difficult. It's a TP-LINK 300mbps wireless N adapter. The date on the driver when I look at its properties is from 2010 so I thought updating would be worth it.

I'll go ahead and uninstall outpost. But my next question is that if my machine is then fine for a week, isn't it quite risky putting the firewall back if it's the thing causing the blue screens?

Also, (apologies for double posting) I just uninstalled outpost and went to turn on Widnows firewall, but found it was already on. Could have this been on all this time while I had Outpost intalled (I don't remember ever turning it on - last time I checked it was off) and could that possibly cause issues?

    Geodizzle...

Windows Firewall automatically turns on when you uninstall a third party firewall. No problems there...
