    Hi,
I am having a little problem here. I have a gigabyte ga-g1975x motherboard. It comes with onboard sound Sound blaster live 24 bit with all the latest drivers installed. (I have a sneaky suspicion this is causing the problem) Recently I have been getting some issues with the OS. The first is BSOD with "irq less or equal" with usbhci something. It's too fast for me to read it completely since the computer restarts automatically. The second issue is that sometimes I get a popup that says svchost.exe 0x7c914bfe trying to write to 0xd9840f0e. Illegal operation and then another popup saying to save all application and windows will close in 30 seconds. I tried to look into the dump files windows produce with windbg but i guess i am in way over my head here. I am not sure if this is the right forum for this. Maybe somebody knows a better forum for that. Thanks a lot for any help.

Process of elimination ...unplug and try one at a time until the fault reoccurs.

that would be easy enough if the problem occured at regular intervail but it seems to be random.

    What's the oprerating system?

Have a look in the device manager. Any problems?

OS is windows XP. Everything looks ok in the device manager. No conflict at all. Nothing that says a device is malfunctioning.

How random is the problem? If it does it at least once a day you might have to try what TimW suggested.

Unplug all usb devices & see if it does it with nothing plugged in.

It happens every couple of days. So there is no way to unplug all my usb stuff. Both keyboard and mouse are usb anyways. That is why I wanted to know if there is a way to follow the memory address that it shows on the bsod using a program I could maybe pinpoint the program that it doing the illegal accessing.
