Vista Crashing on start up goes to a blue screen with this message, this happens every time I try to start up in non-safe mode, safe mode works. I just don't know what to look for, Spybot, Malwarebytes', and avast have not been able to help resolve the issue. I've also restored the driver. What else can I do? I'm not very computer savvy. It started with a virus

    Welcome to MG's :)

If you can copy the minidump files to the Desktop, zip and upload them as an attachment, I'll take a look to try to work out what's happening.

How to attach items to your post.

I can't figure out how to do that, I'm currently running in safe mode.

Reboot to Safe Mode with Networking. The minidumps are stored in C:\Windows\Minidump\, once the files are copied to your Desktop, select them all and right-click > Send to > Compressed folder (= zip them). Then attach the zip file to your reply.

I need C:\Windows\Minidump\Mini020711-02.dmp, copy it to the Desktop then zip it before attaching :)

That was a shortcut to the file! - go to the minidump folder, right-click the minidump and click Copy, click back on your Desktop, right-click and click Paste - then zip and upload it - we'll get there :)

Hmm, after all that, it's corrupt :( can you upload an older one, please?

That is the only one I have, there is no folder just that. I can't run any system fixes in safe mode, and I can't afford to buy any of the ones that will. It won't even let me install microsoft security essentials nor let me F8 at the boot screen so I can just remove what ever this is.

The minidump you uploaded was for a stop: 0x0000001e BSOD, the original post records a 0x0a BSOD. If the BSOD's are random - 3 or more different types, there's a high chance that the problem lies with the RAM installed or the way the BIOS is configuring the RAM settings.

In the OP you mentioned that you'd restored 'the driver', which driver was it and what made you think it was caused by that one?

What was the virus that you originally had? How did you get rid of it?

I was just following the directions of the Windows Help and Support that pops up in the safe mode upon starting. It's given me several error codes.
    0x00000000010
    0x00000000005
And a few others, my guess is it's malware that is creeping around. Changing configurations.

Ok, better ensure it's clean then, read through this first and follow the instructions carefully for Vista; there may be some things you can't run, make notes of them and any errors.

Once you've completed it and have the required logs, make a new topic in the Malware forum and post the logs for the experts to check over. Even if it's clean, the logs may give me more clues as to what the problem really is :).
