Buddy selling

Buddy is selling Windows 7 Ultimate that has already been activated, is this a problem?

 

Can someone else use the software?
Elaborate some?

 

It means they have bypassed Microsoft activation in some manner. There's probably a dozen different varieties floating around on the bittorrent sites for free. The fact your buddy is selling it means he has moved into actual criminal territory, the kind where he can actually can go to jail.

 

Any activation without the legitimate key from MS is strictly a no no, you not only leave yourself open to legal retribution but there is a chance when it tries to update it will find that the OS is not official (MS are getting very good at spotting fraudulent activation)and you end up with a black screen.

Best advice "walk away"

 

idk, he said it isn't installed on anything, and has the COA and product key... was mentioning some trouble ... idk though
