Budget Machine Help

OK, here is the deal. My wife and I are looking to replace a stolen home pc with a budget machine. We serf the net, email, a few digital pics, a little game playing and burn a few CD's. We're looking at three different machines,

1) emachine T3616

2) compaq Presario SR5210NX

3)Dell Inspiron 530

Anything we buy that don't have at least 1gig or RAM will be upgraded. Minimum HD size would be 120gig.

I need your suggestions please.

Out of the three, I'd go for the compaq Presario SR5210NX. It appears the video set up is a bit more beefy then the other two, and seems to fit with what you want to do with it. I guess you could configure the Dell to suit, but that changes the price quite a bit.

I like eMachines, though - my first "Modern" PC was one, and it's still happily clunking along 6 years down the road. Had one of the first P4's in it.

One thing to consider about any PC you consider is how upgradable is it? If it comes with on-board video, ask if the motherboard has an AGP or a PCI-E slot for an add-on card down the road. Is there space for a second hard-drive? Second optical drive? Having two or three standard PCI slots open also doesn't hurt - you never know what you might want or need the PC to do down the road.

Id go with the Compaq, ive had good experiences with them. Next id go with the Dell, contrary to popular belief the DO make good computers lol. The only emachines ive had contact with was a total POS so i really cant pass judgment on that one, Natakel seems to have good experience with them though

who the hell steals a desktop computer? i mean COME ON...what is this world coming to...
