Buggiest Game

What was the buggiest pc game you ever played?
For me it was battlecruiser 3000ad.

 

For me it was Sims2k on my PC.... it went by like 3 days per second and i lost if i didnt turn disasters off Damn new technology! Im setting up my Commodore 64 again...

 

Unreal, when it was first released.

Or, Ultima:Ascension.

 

Hidden and Dangerous was pretty buggy when it first came out - one level had your squad dying mysteriously for no reason... I don't think there were any German snipers around. A shame because it was such an awesome game.

Im playing Sacred at the moment and that is pretty rife with bugs.

 

Star Wars: Knights of the old Republic 2 has so many bugs it's not funny. A bunch of people couldn't even get it to play,which is one of the many bugs Obsidian didn't fix with the single patch they released...

 

Tsunami 2265 AD. I picked it up because it was only $6. It has great graphics, WONDERFUL beautiful cel shaded graphics. The gameplay leaves less to desire. Everytime I started up the game, my gameplay settings went back to default. Plus, way too many crashes.

 

MotoRacer 3. Just installing it was an ordeal!

Then the company quickly closed, so there was no such thing as support or patches.


Also, in Project IGI, I couldn't get crosshairs to display.

Try playing a FPS without crosshairs.

Admittedly, that was the only bug, but boy what a bug!

 

Civ 4, doesn't launch on ATI cards - and for some reason - on my nv6600 on my laptop.

 

Soldiers: Heroes Of World War II God I'm still feeling the effects lol

 

I'll add "crashes randomly throughout the game for no aparent reason"

Also to my list : WW2OL. I got it as soon as it was out, and i remembe dling a 150mb patch just to get into the game so it worked, it was a full alpha/beta game for almost 3 full years, just now it has started to pick up, but they've made it so much of a simulator, that its so god aweful boring / frustrating.

Have to give battlefield 2 a mention,prob not the worst but a modern game from such a large company has no right to be in that kind of state and then with each patch came the "known issues" that the patch created but the patch was released anyways,EA actually told everyone to remove the 1.2 patch completely revert to the 1.1 and wait a few months for the 1.3 patch,which upon release you get this which was another confidence killer,worrying whether a game will crash to the desktop at any moment just takes all the fun out of it

A full 171mb worth of fixes,they did throw in wake island "24mb" a kind of sorry but still a huge patch and my audigy LS still will not work in hardware sound,nor will my realtek onboard 7.1 because of the massive voice corruption,the voip is also on/off,its incredibly frustating as all the other effect sound awsome with hardware rendering enabled

Guess I'll have to upgrade my soundcard to a creative x-fi just about the only sound card BF2 supports http://i20.photobucket.com/albums/b214/Rikky_/bigfinger.gif,theres no doubt in my mind creative has payed EA off,check this out straight from the readme

 

We recommend creative cards,just not the ones anyone actually owns

 

BF2 was the biggest disappointment I've ever come across. What a waste of $50. Being a long time fan of the Battlefield series, I felt ripped off & this was after the whole Battlefield Vietnam fiasco. I thought well DICE will come threw, but nope...not yet.

 

I'm going to go out on a limb here and say you two aren't fond of BF2?

I can accept dodgy games from years ago, but NOT current releases.

 

Thats the problem I think its an awsome game,the best multi fps out ATM which is why its been so frustrating,1.3 patch has helped alot,but I still cant have hardware rendered sound,software renderer just isnt good enough on a modern game and I still thing my audigy LS has perfect sound quality 96khz 24 bit,to release a game that doesnt work on half the creative cards out there STINKS!the magic of playing the game for the first couple of months has been lost

 

It may be pretty good in Multiplayer, but Singleplayer is a joke.

Anyone who bought it with that in mind would be extremely disappointed.
