My wife has a Toshiba Laptop, 64 bit, which I reformatted and loaded Win 7 as she was having problems. She was a happy girl with it, until now. She has been getting BSOD saying memory dump problems. Good thing she has a backup harddrive, so I stuck the win 7 disk back in to reload it and a repair option came up. Cool, I thought. Ran that and let it update itself. Ought to be good. NOT. Now she has the BSOD coming up again for other reasons.
Is this a common problem w/ Win 7? Should I reload Win 7? Other fixes ya' all might recommend?

You could try all sorts of random things to throw at it, best to troubleshoot it first, find the problem, find the fix ;)

First, check that Windows is set to create minidumps. If it's already set that way, fine, you should already have some *.dmp files in C:\Windows\Minidump. Find and copy them to the Desktop, zip them and upload the resulting zip file as an attachment, I'll try to debug it.

There might be underlying hard drive problems, you can check for these using the methods here. You should also check for memory errors using 7 passes or more of MemTest86+, a good walkthrough is here.

Overheating is a very common problem for laptops, make sure the machine is blowing air through when you hear the fan(s) kick in, if the airflow is slow and/or very hot, you may need to give it a careful clean and find a method to raise the rear of the laptop by about 1 inch to ensure good air flow.

Thanks, I'll check it out and see if it helps.

Any logs and dumps you get, zip and upload them and we'll try to figure out the next step(s) for you.

    What sort of problems?

Not all BSOD are software; you assumed windows was the culprit but you could have a hardware error.
Because you got a BSOD after a repair, I'd tend to lean more towards hardware than software.
