Building a MAME Cabinet

Hi Everyone,

When I pull together some extra cash, I'm planning on building a MAME Cabinet. I just wanted to get some of your suggestions on what kind of Computer and Hardware to put in it.

If you can, give me suggestions for:

Processor
OS
Video Card
Ram
and whatever else that you think of.

Also, this may sound stupid but, should I put the computer in a case or just mount it in the cabinet. I'm not too sure about the cooling benefits of each.

I have a set of plans already for the cabinet, but I'm still working on some of the details of it. I also plan on using all Happ Controls.

just mount it on a board inside the cabnet. no need to buy a computer case. you can put case fans on the back of the cabnet for airflow.

There are a quite few mame games that are heavy on processor and ram so i reccomend somthing fast (3ghz/3000+) with plenty of memory (1gb+). If you have money to spend go for a P4 3.2ghz or an amd 64 3200+. When choosing ram get somthing thats low latency and good bandwidth. If you need help choosing PM me.
