Alright so after coming to the conclusion that my motherboard died on my current computer because it receives power but nothing ever comes up on the screen and the case's power buttons no longer work and the CD drive won't open when I hit the open button I figure its my mobo which they do not make anymore. It used AGP so I figured why not just build a new computer so here are my specs.

    Case

    DVD Burner

    Hard Drive

    Motherboard

    Power Supply

    RAM

    CPU

    GFX Card

    Comments or suggestions?

I have a 500w PSU currently that my last rig used, do you think its enough power for that set up? (add 2 hard drives) Also, the reason I went with a SATA DVD burner is primarily because my old main hard drive is IDE and I want to use it/get all the information off of it and if someone can please confirm my conclusion of the motherboard dying I would appreciate it.

    Symptoms
    1. I turn on the master power on the PSU and the computer automatically came on which didn't happen before I always had to hit the case power button.

    2. Case temperature gauge no longer receives power.

    3. HDD LED is on but not the green power LED

    4. When the computer turns on nothing ever comes up on the screen.

I refit everything and took everything apart and put it back together and still nothing so it leads me to believe its the motherboard.

Also, this is a HUGE upgrade from my old rig which was
    ASUS Deluxe Mobo
    AMD Athlon 3000+ (2.1 GHz)
    OCZ (I forget which kind) 1GB (2x512mb)
    Chaintech nVidia 6600 256MB

Looks good! What are the specs of your old PSU? Id still get a new one though since PSUs tend to take things with them when they die, and even though it is an OCZ things wear down after a while and im guessing your other rig is a few years old?

Almost 2 years old to the date and it wasn't the PSU that died it was just the motherboard I believe.

and this is my PSU that I have now here

definitely get the OCZ then. Your current one may not hold up so well with all those parts very long and it only has one 12v rail. It looks decent tho

everything else looks really good. what are your plans for it? gaming? music? maybe look into getting a nice soundcard like an X-Fi if you dont have one

Gaming most definitely and maybe ill get one later on down the road since all I use right now is a headset, I really should get speakers. Around Christmas maybe.

Thats a petty good pc. You going to put XP or Vista on it or Dual Boot?

I'm not exactly sure yet. I have to put XP on it to start since I do not have Vista but I am considering it so I can play the newer games that come out.
