Here is my goal, i am trying to build a gaming pc that would be able to play todays games. I dont have that much computer knowledge on parts so maybe you can help me?

im wanting to get parts from newegg and here is the specs that im leaning for,

intel p4/core duo (core 2 duo too expensive?)
    1 gig of ram
a mobo that supports above (and sli),
video card that supports todays standard games
and at least 250 gigs of hd space

    budget is $700-$800

oops i clicked on the wrong thread, this should be in hardware ><
    any suggestions?

    video card: 7600GT, 7900GS
    processor: core 2 duo E6300 or E6600
mobo: dont know any good core 2 duo mobos yet
PSU: something Antec, make sure its SLI certified if u really wanna go SLI. probably no less than 600W (OCZ GameXStream if u can raise the budget a bit)
RAM: corsair xms or similar (crucial ballistix, patriot, kingston hyperX) make sure u get ddr2
HDD: seagate or western digital, w/ 16mb cache SATA 3.0Gb/s

its just kinda hard to meet that budget with your expectations. SLI boards are pricy, same with good video cards.
