First off, thanks MG, i refer alot of people to this site for help and now i find myself needing help...

My computer that i have now (the one im useing to type from) is about 5 years old and im building a new one. i cant seem to figure out what im doing wrong heres a list of what i have

    a Xion solaris case
CPU:Q6600 quad core Intel chipset 775
    Mainboard: Dg33tl
    GPU: 8800GT
    PSU: Xion 500w(came with case)
    Ram:kingston 5300 dd2 ram
HD: 150 WD rapter 10,000 rmp

Anyway, i installed all of the componets besides the GPU because i didnt want to fuss things up i wanted it to work, and i pluged the 2x12 into the mobo, the 2x2, and all the case componets into the correct spots according to the dg33tl quick refernce guide, the CPU is installed correctly, and the heatsink is on correctly, my problem is that i cant get the thing to post or even power up, the PSU seemed to be the problem so i swaped it out for this computer (because i know this psu works) and tested it well it doesnt work in the system(the new system) and i tested(i guess you could call it that, this PSU old computer makes a high pitched noise when you turn it on w/o pluging it into anything, and the new PSU for the new system, does the same timg) so i ruled out the psu.

i would think that if it doesnt post, beep, or anything, ram or proccesser doesnt matter and wont help if i change things around.

    is there something im missing?

    so far ive:
    Checked the PSU-works
Rechecked and triple checked instructions for wiring - so far so...good?

what am i doing wrong MG? :cry

On page 24 of the motherboard manual it shows the standby LED. Does this come on when you power up? It should always be alight when power is correctly connected to the motherboard.

How have you installed the motherboard into the case. Have you used the standoff pillars?

Lots of troubleshooting support can be had here

i would quadruple check the wiring for the power button, reset button, etc...maybe the instructions are wrong (wouldn't be the first time).

Got on at work? just circumvented the server :)

GOT IT TO WORK it was the standoffs wow... but the only sad thing is that the PSU is not enough to power the motherboard LAME! there goes another hundred bucks
