    Hello everyone,

I'm running out of hdd space and need to amp up with a mighty storage solution. I was hoping to buy one the the new sweet looking WD or SG hdd's prebuilt with an enclosure chassis. Such as the 1TB, and 2TB solutions they have right now. But I've been reading so many bad reviews about them. Mainly because of the fact that they carry added software you cannot remove. Even when formatting the drive, there are problems which I'm not going to get into now. Or how SG has lowered their warranty duration from 5 to 2/3 years. WD has also done the same with their warranties as well.

Being that these are the problems I'm facing I'd much rather build my own hdd backup solution. My choice is simple...

    WD Caviar Green 2TB HDD

I'd like to know what you guys think about this setup. I want to buy that 2TB drive first and than add a second one in the future. The enclosure can be used as in "Individual" or "Jbod" setup. I'd like to have two separate drives in one enclosure when I end up buying another hdd down the line. So I'm assuming that "Individual" setup would be what I need.

Just drop me a line and let me know how well these drives/enclosures stand up to your expertise.

    Thanks

    P.s.
I'm running WinXP SP3, on a P3 2.0Ghz pc with 512mb of ram... Yes I know it's old but it's all I've got! Hope that doesn't degrade performance.
