I like the wattage chart. That by itself is pretty useful, especially for newbies. Some of it seems a bit low though.

Some nice tips in there that I'll use for my next build esp. about case selection. I won't scrimp this time.

I usually recommend this one to beginners

It's basically an easy jigsaw puzzle, you just need to do things in a logical order.

    1) prepare the case, making sure you double and treble check the motherboard stand offs are in the correct place

    2) fit the fiddly front panel connectors first, before you get too much spaghetti in there.

    3) If you're not sure, and the manual seems vague - ask someone who knows

Number one stumbling block for newbies .....

Check the CMOS jumper is not set to the clear position - if it has one, that is.
Some motherboard manufacturers ship their boards like this to preserve the battery life, but your correctly assembled new PC will appear dead if left in that position. If people read the manual properly, that wouldn't be a problem though

Thanks for the link. I'm not sure about the objects of this website. Is it a spin off from a magazine?

Anyway I'm even less sure about their advice. Seems rather shallow.
This quote taken from fitting the CPU section is at variance with accepted wisdom of fitting the adapter cards after the motherboard an CPU has been proven.
The section is also light on using thermal pads/paste and anti static techniques.

Well I wasn't suggesting it as a sole resource, just another option.
I haven't looked at it in depth to be honest, because I've already built several hundred, but I thought at first glance, it looked quite informative, compared to a lot of similar sites.

It's also changed a bit from the original site I found, I'm pretty sure it had more photos before.

...and yes, I always fit the RAM and CPU/heatsink before installing the motherboard myself.
