Burn A DvD but WITHOUT Encoding? How?

I'm trying to make space on my computer and I have a lot of homemade movies and such that I want to be burn onto a playable DvD but my computer is soooo slow and takes HOURS to burn just one dvd with windows dvd maker. It takes FOREVER just to encode it and that isn't even BURNING it. Which if I understand correctly, is unnecessary cuz the file is already on the computer and I just want to burn it DIRECTLY to the dvd so I can DELETE the file on my computer and make room. But I want to be able to watch it on the TV or be able to store it OFF the computer for later use. I'm too broke to buy a bigger hard driver/better computer or nice burning software. Any suggestions?

Once Windows DvD maker finishes this damn DVD..
It's been FOUR hours and it's STILL encoding!!! And it's only at 44.4% done!!!!!!
Is that normal?
How long does it usually take to burn ONE dvd??

 

that program only lets me burn 5 dvds ...
I need something that is free and will let me put home videos and movies onto dvd so they can be watched on our TV.
And doesn't have a watermark on it.
This is why I'm having problems locating such a program... seems they may not exist?
I've heard it should only take 2 hours to burn a dvd once I find a program... is that correct?

 

It depends on the computer. My quad core PCwill do it in 1/2 hour while 5 year old single core will do it in 2-3 hours. There is no program that will make an old, slow PC fast as a new one.

So I guess I can't speed up my burn time with a kickass program for free when the pc is old and slow... lol ... but it was worth a shot. Tee Hee

So then what IS normal time for a dvd to burn on standard computers?

I can't get one to work on my dvd players!! And the last one took FIVE hours to burn for about 80 minutes worth of video. And it didn't even work!!
Is that how long it takes? If so, that's cool.. just needed to be prepared for that. LoL!!

Off to try that program now...
