Burn a slideshow to CD or DVD

I am looking for software that will allow me to burn a slideshow of my pics for playback on my DVD player. I know there are a lot of burners out there but....
I have Roxio 8 and that only seems to create a movie of my pictures. I'd also like to have one that will allow me to select the pictures from folders similar to chapters on a DVD. Every slideshow maker I've tried only allows me to burn all the pictures individually requiring a lot of paging through to find the pictures I want to view. I would like to use my DVD remote to advance, go back, pause, switch folders, etc.
I would prefer a free program but given my luck in finding one so far I would consider buying one that does what I want.
I use Win XP and have a DVD player that recognizes jpeg file.
Any ideas? I sure would appreciate it.

I really doubt that any free software will do all what you need to do, but I'm pretty sure that the full version of Nero (with NeroVision) will do everything you need. I have the full version of Nero 6.6 and it has a slideshow feature (I've never used it), so I'm sure that the newer versions of Nero have it too. It's up to version 8 I think. I know that Adobe has software that does it too, but Adobe's software is usually VERY expensive, but if you have the dough, it is high end software so maybe check it out.

If your DVD player will play the highmatt format you can do it with windows movie maker It's part of XP

dlb sugestion will work for you, it is so easy to use!!! Read the help before 'cause in the begining is a little bit confuse (at least was for me).
