burned dvd wont play

    hi i have a benq 1620 dvd write and i used a sony dvd-r with magic dvd ripper and burnt it wit nero ...it wont play on my dvd player thats on my cpu and wont play on a normal dvd player.. but it kinda works on my ps 2..on my ps2 it took awhile to load..and sometimes the audio cuts out...wat to do?

    Are you able to play the DVD files that you used to make the DVD on your computer's DVD player? Did you burn it as a DVD Video disc? Try DVD Shrink http://www.majorgeeks.com/download4020.html and see if it works any better for you. It's free and works with Nero to burn to disc.

    also isn't dvd+r the standard for most dvd players? I know more recent ones play both, but then again I gave up on the whole dvd+/- thing. I was hoping one standard would have won and we could all go on with our lives. Oh well

    DVD-R is more compatible with older players, it makes no real difference in the newer ones.
