    Hey guys

I'm having a problem burning movies to a dvd+r, I'm not even sure if I am able to (because once I insert the CD I think that it's not being recognized, cause when I insert a CD-R it pop up's a windows bar to select with what app I would like to explore the content, anyway I've been looking from some resolutions in the microsoft help page, but they obviously suck and after 1 hour I decided to give up and just go to a forum.
Going to post a print of the problem, any more info you need please ask!~

    The Cd I'm burning into to is a DVD+R 4xRW 4.7GB

Would appreciate if you guys could help me, thanks.

Go to Device Manager, Right click on the device, Left click on Properties, then Left Click on Details, under Properties pull down, click on Hardware ID's, and paste a screenshot of what it shows in that section.

Nero Info Tool will tell you what discs, DVDInfoPro also. Here is a list of programs that will tell you what discs your DVD burner is capable of using http://www.raymond.cc/blog/do-you-know-your-cd-or-dvd-drive-burning-capabilities/

Thank you for your answer man! ;)

Just did everything you did, and according to nero it seems that everything is ok in the dvd section, took the print of the device manager as you said but don't know what that is.

someone with a lot more knowledge than me will be along shortly to help you out; but just to clarify the problem, are you trying to burn a movie to a cd disc or a dvd disc? the burner will handle both but you will need a dvd disc, not a cd disc for a full length motion picture

They know that, they were just wondering why the disc was not burning, even though their unit is capable. Most likely just a bad batch of discs, or the burner is going bad.

I'm burning a movie into a dvd+r, it works fine and it recognizes cd's but when it comes to the dvd+r it just doesn't recognize it, but when looking closely the cd(dvd+r) it's kinda of damaged, it has some scratches so it might be that, I'll just buy some more to see if it will get the job done.
Thanks for the help guys ;)!

Are you talking about the DVD player that you are using to read these discs? It is possible that dvd+r are not compatible with that brand. There will always be scratches on discs from some players, if there is a lot of dust in the home, pet hair, smoke, or when the disc is winding down and it settles to the platter, it can get a little scratched.

Maybe this page will tell you whether your drive supports the media you're trying to burn to.

They already know what media the burner can habdle. The question now is, what are they using to read the media, if it is not the burner thy are using.

May want to read the whole thread, before just jumping in.

I did and always do. The information on that page I linked to may prove useful to someone else who's read the thread.
