I have went through countless number of DVDs trying to get my computer to burn a playable DVD. I am using a software called Pinnacle Studio 8. I have the new DVR (Digital Recording Box) box that Insight (Local Cable Company) has put out and hooked it up to my computer through USB and a box called the "Dazzle" I have succesfully downloaded programs from the box to my computers Hard Drive. I dont know what type of format a DVD has to be in to play. I dont know if i have to get a convertor to convert what format it copyed it at to what i have to burn it at. If anyone can help me please send me an e mail and help me out.

    Thanks so much
    Zach

Look one or two threads below and follow their advice. DVD Shrink works great for me!

Pinnacle should have an option to burn a DVD video disc in MPEG2 format. It should automatically convert anything if you have selected DVD-video as your format.

Welcome to MG. Post full details of your system specifications as burning DVD's has pretty intensive requirements as I understand it. I can't burn DVD's as I only have a CD Burner in my system but other experts will comment on whether your CPU/Hard drive space/OS combinaztion is enough to burn DVD's. I have read good reports about DVD Shrink. Bazza

    Dear Zach,

I know what you mean. Copying DVD's isn't that easy, but follow these instructions and you won't have any more hassles (I guarantee great results):

What type of drive are you using?
What type of disc are you using?
What format are you saving the movies from your DVR (right-click on the movie's icon and check the file type)?
In Studio 8, are you electing to burn a DVD-Video disc (compatible with stand-alone DVD players)?
What DVD player are you using to watch these DVD discs?

He could use DVD Shrink (link: http://www.majorgeeks.com/download4020.html ) and he wouldn't have to rip someone off to do it. BTW, Zach is not trying to copy a DVD, he is trying to burn video files to a DVD.
