Burning dvds with nero slow

Are there any other programs that can transcode faster, it takes almost 2 hours to encode the dvd, I've heard there were faster ways

 

Usually most encoding slowness issues are caused by slow pc/small amounts of ram.

 

NERO is slow especially 8 i have NERO 6 and its better but for burning i use ULTRA ISO it's not free but i find it faster than NERO.

I believe hes reffering to encoding, not burning. Which is a different story. BTW I use nero 8 and dont have speed issues, through many say they do.

 

Yea it takes the time length of the move to encode it. Thats way to long, theres got to be a faster way

i think with NERO 8 it has to do with your PC setup on my laptop it is much slower than 6 i also find all ADOBE products run slow for me maybe i need a faster CPU i have INTEL CELERON M

 

Exactly, other programs may encode faster, but its usually around the same, the only real way to speed encoding, is throw more hardware at it. IE faster cpu or more ram.

 

If you're referring to converting files to DVD format from AVI's or MPEG's, try WinAVI. It isn't free, but it's by far the fastest conversion software I've ever used. It doesn't do the burning, you'll still need Nero to burn the movies, but converting a full movie from AVI to DVD (.vob) takes about 35 minutes on my PC (Athlon64 3200+ and 1.5gb DDR400).
