Ok.So I just got an external dvd burner for my pc and I'm just starting to learn how to use it. Here's the issue. I burn dvds, they only work on my dvd player and not my Xbox 360, also when I watch them on my dvd player it only plays three quarters of the movie then goes blank. However, when I play the exact same cd in my pc, it will play the entire movie. What am I doing wrong? And how do I get the movies to play on the 360? Oh, and Nero doesn't recognize that I now have a dvd burner, way weird.

What brand/type dvd media are you using?
Sometimes inferior media are not equally readable by different dvd players.

    Try reinstalling Nero?

Sorry I don't know what you mean by dvd media. But I am using -R dvds to burn them onto. I am using express burn to burn the dvds, and I have the burning program set as NTSC. I tried reinstalling Nero, doesn't fix the issue.

Sorry, should have elaborated further and asked for the Media ID.
Media ID is a code which identifies the actual brand of dvd used and can help categorize quality. The following example is a list of Media IDs for DVDs: http://www.videohelp.com/dvdmedia

    How to retrieve Media ID

ALSO what is the brand of your external dvd burner? I have heard of one that requires a firmware update to work properly.

Installed latest updates for your version of Nero?

Someone also mentioned replacing "wnaspi32.dll" at bottom of the following thread: http://club.cdfreaks.com/f87/dvr-110d-not-available-159271/ (unfortunately leads to old/missing link)

Ok so I ran that program to identify the dvd type, this is what I got.

    Disc and Book Type : [Dvd-R] - [Dvd-r]
Manufacturer Name : [CMC Magnetics Corp]
Manufacturer Id : [CMC MAG. AM3]
    Blank Disc Capacity : [2,298,496 Sectors = 4.71 GB (4.38 GiB)]

Type of external dvd burner is an LG External SUper Multi DVD Rewriter GE20

do you need the specs from the box for the burner?

and my nero is old, I don't think it updates anymore lol

Are those Memorex DVDs? If so it has mixed compatability. I've used different types of CMC MAG AM3 and the cheapest dvds I've ever bought were from Office Depot (on sale) and worked really well. One would think that all of these would be the same but they aren't. Some dvd manufacturing companies fake the codes and use cheaper, less reliable chemicals.

Burning these media at a lower speed may help.

Unable to find firmware updates for your dvd player.

I'd probably try a different dvd software burner.
