burnt out something with mobo asus forumula iv

hi there guys this is my first post and i hope you all can help
i have a asus mobo formula iv with g.skill rip jaw 2x2gb sticks at 1600
a 750 ebay psu and a amd atholon 2 x4 with a asus nvidia 1gb gts 450 gpu

here is the scenoiro my case was open laying on its side and my wife was playing world of warcraft she had our baby in her lap and its began to vomit and yes you guessed it right on the mobo only about a 1inch by 1inch got on the mobo right next to the cpu were ther are solder points and some on the ram

she turned the comp. off right away and turned it back on without cleaning off the puke (yes i know , she is femail (rolling eyes) ) so i got home and cleaned it and made sure everything was dry.

i turned it on and the psu fan starts up but no boot and there are these little red led lights near the massive 3 inch long power suplly plug right behind that one red led light is solid red saying cpu and one is blinking saying dram itll stay on for about 5 min the all shuts off
wierd thing also the monitor on button is yellow and usually when it boots it turns blue and i see the booting sequence but ther is no signal at all


here is what i have done i took out 1 stcik of ram booted = nothing
called asus and they said those motherboard are designed to not fry hence the blinking led lights saying somethings else is wrong
i have my old motherboard ,gpu,psu and ram so i installed everthings back to stock and still nohthing and the only thing that i brought over from the new system to the old is the cpu chip hmmmmm

i even took the new mobo and pluged in the old psu and gpu =nothing
evening way i do it the fan and the mobo turns on meaning with the asus everything on the mobo lights up

my gues is i have burnt out the cpu

any one else have a guess i am buying another cpu a phenom 2 x4 from ebay used but warrenteed so its good to go

Anyway, does the led lights blink in a certain pattern?

I'll have to download your manual to see if I can help. On a side note, you can try removing the battery and replacing after 5 mins. This will essentially reset all your settings in the bios.

 

Well, instead of removing the battery, you can follow page 2-26 of the manual.

 

no just one solid cpu red light and a blinking red dram light i have done the battery thingy for like 24 once but to no avail

so could it be the cpu since that the only thing i took over from the swapping back to old system ??

 

well, luckily you went AMD, then yeah, see if you can replace that. But, my thoughts are the board is bad.

Vomit, typically has stomach acids in it, that could/can corrode components.

For future reference, close the case up.
