    Heya..

I want to upgrade my system a bit, and I don't want to change my mobo (it's a Sapphire Pure Crossfire s939 mobo) so I have to get a socket 939 CPU. I was thinking about 4600 - 4800 Athlon X2.
Can you recommend me of a good store to get the CPU from that ships to Israel?

Sorry for any spelling\grammar mistakes :)

Check out Newegg.com. I just bought a new athlon64 3400 for $40, and had it in 2 days... of course delivery to you location may vary ;)

You are going to be hard pressed to find a retail store that sells any Socket 939 Athlon 64 X2 above the 3800 model. If your motherboard supports it (you'll need the exact model number), you may want to look for an Opteron 185, which is basically a 2.6 Ghz Athlon X2.

Other than that, you'll probably need to look for a used one somewhere. www.ebay.com might be a good place to start.

My mobo does not support opertons :(
I'll probably get an athlon 4200 X2 fro newegg, it's pretty cheap and a fast delivery.

What processor do you have right now? What do you use your computer for and is it even worth the upgrade?

P.S. I don't know that newegg ships to Israel. I'm not sure that they even ship to Canada.

I have two mobos that dont support Opteron but they work just fine:major

There is no desktop PC that offically supports Opterons, only server mobo's have the offical support:p

Here's some places to look for CPU (this is from the DIY-street) http://www.diy-street.com/forum/showthread.php?t=24392
    Israel:

]http://www.pandas.co.il/ (Biggest variety and very cheap prices)

http://www.ksp.co.il/ (Excellent prices, almost everything is in stock)

http://www.noacomp.co.il/ (Decent prices, very cheap hard drives)

    http://www.plonter.co.il/ (Online shop only)

http://www.mardanit.co.il/ (Decent prices, excellent warranty and service)

I'm familiar with all of those shops, and they are NOT cheap (all but KSP, but they don't have s939 CPUs). The reason I want to buy from abroad is to save about 100 USD, coz the cheapest 4600 I've found was ~1,800 NIS = 450 USD.

    @ASUS
How do I know if my mobo supports opertons? the model is pc-a9rd580 BTW.
