buying memory..

Went into buy memory and they ask me what the memory speed was.
How do I find out what the speed is on my PC?

I'm not sure that there is a reliable way apart from taking a stick out and reading it.
It is possible if your computer is a specific make to go to a site like

http://www.kingston.com/branded/default.asp

and find your computer model there. This will tell you what was put in your computer at the point of manufacture.
I built my own, and if yours is home built too them obviously it wont be listed.

Now, that's not true. Kingston and Crucial.com list many motherboards as well as computer models.

 

it is the easiest thing inseting RAM into ure computer that is the simplest thing. look i do repair and do up computers for a living and all u have to do it turn ure comp off and disable all the plugs. Put it on a solid surface then at the back unscrew ure comp. MAKE SURE URE HANDS ARE NOT WET AND MAKE SURE THERE IS NO STATIC ELECTRISITY ON U otherwise ure mess ure comp up. then ure see inside ure comp not far from the hard drive like a stick memory chip, this is easy breakable so be carefull. all u have to do it buy what ever u want 128mb 512mb 816mb 1gb then there shud be more slots. inset the card in the slots follow how the other card is and press those little clips "if there are some" and there u have it more memory inserted
