    Hi

Am impossible question as it can be a personal preference, but can anyone give opinions on Laptops around E700 (450--500 sterling)? Or even a little more expensive.

I can get a Toshiba (sorry dont know model no.) 1.8 intel dual core (?), 2 gig ram, 15.4 screen, 120 gig hard disk for around E760 (prob around £500). What else would you recommend? Ive had HP and found them fine, though the last one had to be sent back for repair.

What about Sony Vaio; Advent; Acer; Fujitsu?

Or is there a good review site you could direct me to?

I'll be using it for regular stuff, very few games, maybe eventually a little home movie editing.

    thanks

Acer, ASUS, HP, and Dell all make great laptops for decent prices. I own an old Gateway (which still has had no problems to this day) and a newer Acer, which I am very happy with. My friend has a brand new HP he got a few months ago and it is amazing, i believe it was ~$1600 USD so about 800 pounds. Keep in mind that was a mainly gaming laptop so you should be able to find one suited to your needs in your price range very easily. I would direct you to some places you could look to buy one but I'm totally ignorant as to where you guys across the pond buy your PC stuff ;)

    Thanks!

Im actually in Ireland but we do have a PC World. Though I'll probably be buying from an Irish company called "Click" where my nephew works. Doesnt mean I'll get a discount though....!
